If it was brought for the D.C. Auto Show, then I'm thinking that my dad actually drove !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! at the Cadillac Ride 'N' Drive event when we went to the show this past Saturday. It's the same color, too!

Granted, I'm not totally sure, as I can't remember whether the Vsport at the event had the same red and black interior or an all-black interior (we drove the CTS4 2.0T as well). Additionally, while the guy we drove with mentioned that summer tires were standard equipment, I don't remember him saying that they were actually on the car. He did tell my dad to be careful, but he'd also mentioned that the Vsport was RWD-only in the same breath. I think it's reasonable to assume that it did have winter tires, though, considering how damn cold it's been lately and how summer tires don't take well to low temperatures.

Cadillac has a problem if drivers can't differentiate between a CTS4 and a CTS Vsport. I don't think anyone would confuse a 5 Series/M5 or E350/E63 AMG.

Vsport isn't really equivalent to an M car. It's just the standard CTS with some badging.

Its more like differentiating between an a6 and an s6, or any bmw and its respective m sport package (you know... The poor mans m3/m5/etc appearance/handling package).

I beg to differ.

extremely false statement sir.

The Vsport has the twin turbo v6 in it as well as performance handling.

To be fair a 550i and an M5 are closer to each other than a 528i/535i (which is where I'd put a CTS4 on the comparison scale). Good read none the less, that guy is lucky to have vehicles like that at his disposal.

Extremely true statement. The M5 does not come with a turbo six, and you know good an well that the CTS is not a competitor to the 3 series.

All CTS and ATS cars have 'performance handling', as any car with a good chassis should. 'Vsport' = 'Msport' as far as the line up is concerned. The M competitors will come a little bit later.

Ah that makes more sense.

Thanks for the clarification. Vsport=Msport should be Cadillac's new slogan

You need to go read that FP article about it.

It is not just badging on the VSport CTS. It even has different suspension/handling settings like "Track Mode" IF it was just badging it wouldn't have those adjustments. I'm not saying it can run against the M5, the Msport is the right target but it's more than just a badge and some different colored seats.

I know what you're saying.. on the same token, you can get that M sport package, i believe on the 535i too.
